A renewed vision of hotel hospitality
A space where interior design becomes a vehicle for emotion, comfort, and distinction.
Present in Québec City’s St-Roch neighbourhood for more than a decade, the Best Western hotel is entering a new phase of its evolution, guided by a contemporary vision of hospitality.
From the moment guests arrive, the transformation is immediately felt. Once discreet, the lobby now opens onto a bright and soothing atmosphere.
The design team skillfully addressed the building’s architectural constraints—particularly the low ceiling heights—by embracing bold solutions: stretched ceilings, layered textures, and thoughtfully diffused lighting. These interventions transform the perception of space, creating a greater sense of openness and fluidity.
Fully reimagined, the reception area offers a contactless experience designed to respond to the new constraints shaped by the pandemic.
Beyond functionality, however, it is an atmosphere that unfolds—calm, elegant, and reassuring. Every element, from the furniture to the finishes, has been carefully selected for its ability to create comfort, invite relaxation, and elevate the moment.
The interior design is anchored in a palette of balanced mid-range and neutral tones, carefully composed to transcend trends without losing relevance. The selected materials—durable and refined—ensure visual continuity with the brand’s identity while asserting a distinct character unique to the Québec City property.
Despite the renovations, the hotel remained fully operational throughout the process. Close coordination between the design and operations teams allowed the spaces to be transformed without compromising the guest experience.
A clear demonstration that design can be both strategic and sensitive, innovative and respectful.
The new independent bistro
Now open to the street, Bistro NouVo has become an integral part of the vibrant neighbourhood. It evokes a European atmosphere with its mosaic flooring and generous banquette seating.
The compact space features a central bar with a marble-finish quartz countertop and lighting fixtures by Molo, a Canadian company. To create an ambiance that is both warm and luminous, the team addressed the challenge of limited ceiling height by installing a smoked mirror wall, allowing light to diffuse throughout the space.
