Maritain Residence: a warm and refined interior
The Maritain Residence is the result of a close collaboration between STGM Design and architect Gabrielle Turcotte, offering a living environment where elegance, simplicity, and comfort come together with balance and intention.
Soft palette and refined atmosphere
Ideally located in the Sillery neighborhood of Québec City, the residence comes to life through a soft, muted palette where black and copper tones take center stage. These hues create a warm, controlled ambiance that aligns seamlessly with the occupants’ aspirations.
The kitchen, heart of everyday life
The African Fusion granite island stands as the room’s centerpiece, offering both presence and functionality. A dedicated breakfast cabinet, equipped with sliding doors and pull-out shelves, streamlines daily use and frees up the preparation space. This custom-crafted approach reflects the importance placed on ease of use and the quality of shared moments.
A sculptural and light-filled staircase
The matte black steel staircase, crafted with the support of the Bertiaume Escaliers and Step-design teams, interacts with a smoked glass panel that serves as a visual filter between the entrance and the living room. This architectural gesture—both contemporary and delicate—structures the space while preserving transparency and natural light.
Custom spaces designed to last
The minimalist, highly functional bathroom features a double porcelain shower that echoes the look of natural stone, separated by a frosted glass door.
In collaboration with Mobili millwork, all built-in furnishings were custom-designed for the residence, ensuring material coherence and a level of craftsmanship that reflects the careful attention given to every detail.
