Projects / Formation center – PX3
Spaces that learn with us
A place where learning is built together, shaped by spaces that evolve with activities and foster exchange, curiosity, and collaboration.
For its pan-Canadian continuing education centre PX³, Pomerleau set out to create far more than a place for learning. The goal was to offer a stimulating environment that could both welcome and integrate new employees, support ongoing training, and, at times, host events and receptions.
Inspired by contemporary pedagogical approaches and the latest technologies, the project strikes a balance between virtual learning and human interaction, encouraging knowledge sharing and a strong sense of belonging.
Designed to accommodate a wide range of uses, the centre features a variety of flexible and evolving spaces. Versatility is central to the design approach, reflected in the use of movable partitions, integrated multimedia, carefully selected furnishings, spatial graphics, and the configuration of tiered seating and training areas.
Each element contributes to spaces that can easily transform, shifting from training environments to event settings while maintaining a coherent and seamless experience.
Located within Pomerleau’s head office in Québec City, the centre meets the challenge of integrating into an existing work environment while offering a genuine change of perspective.
A tunnel, highlighted by Pomerleau’s signature diagonal, marks the transition from the workspaces to the PX³ Multidisciplinary Training Centre.
The resulting agile and connected spaces form the cornerstone of the PX³ training program.
Following the success of the concept, several of its principles have since been adapted and deployed in other PX³ centres across the country.
