The Linton Building was constructed in 1907 on the grounds of the residence of the same name. Located on Sherbrooke Street near the Museum of Fine Arts, the Linton stands out for its Beaux-Arts–style architecture. Rising ten storeys high, its main entrance is crowned by a magnificent cast-iron canopy. The façades along Sherbrooke and Simpson streets are clad in terracotta masonry with a glazed finish that tints and colors each component, making it one of the few buildings of its kind in Montréal.

Commissioned to restore the Linton, STGM conducted a comprehensive building-envelope audit before designing the rehabilitation plans and specifications. The project combines heritage preservation with technical performance through the restoration of terracotta blocks and improvements to foundation waterproofing and drainage.
