Projects / Habitat Petite-Rivière St-François
In Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, the social housing project provides 20 affordable units with village-inspired architecture and a sustainable design.
A housing project at the heart of the village
In Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, this social housing project offers 20 affordable units distributed across six buildings. Designed to preserve the village scale and character, it aligns with the special urban planning program for the village core, promoting a balanced residential offering and meeting the needs of low- to moderate-income households. Located on Rue du Quai, the development also includes the creation of a new street segment, enhancing neighborhood connectivity.
A respectful and welcoming architecture
Located near a school and a church, the buildings adopt a typology inspired by local homes, featuring pitched roofs, front balconies, and inner courtyards. This layout creates a small community that fosters social interaction while respecting residents’ privacy. The one- to three-bedroom units blend harmoniously into the landscape through careful choices of materials, colors, and building forms, contributing to the enhancement of the built heritage and views from Rue du Quai.
A commitment to sustainability
With a budget of $7.5 million, this project commissioned by the Town of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François contributes to the vitality of the village and the long-term sustainability of affordable housing in the region.
Our team has been involved in this project since the earliest stages as the architect.
Completion is scheduled for winter 2026.
