Adrien Bobin: Stonemason and heritage building artisan
October 18, 2022
Specializing in the transformation of natural stone, Adrien Bobin is a skilled artisan dedicated to the restoration of significant heritage architecture. We have been working alongside Adrien for over 10 years on various restoration projects. A professional stonemason and a member of the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec, he has been involved for more than 15 years in the restoration of major heritage buildings.
In collaboration with STGM, he is currently working on the restoration of the Hôtel du Parlement. In recent years, working closely with our architects, he has notably carved the pinnacle stones of Chalmers-Wesley Church and trained masons in the finishing of tooled rubble stone at the Chapelle François-Ranvoyzé at the Séminaire de Québec. He also collaborated with the masonry contractor on the cutting and finishing of stone at the Jérôme-Demers Pavilion for the Musée de la civilisation, as well as at 330 de la Gare.
Beyond these collaborations, Adrien is frequently consulted by members of the STGM team to help guide decisions regarding interventions on carved stone elements whose fragility is critical.
His personality, combined with exceptional craftsmanship, deep knowledge of his trade, and a genuine desire to share his passion, makes Adrien Bobin an essential reference in the field of stone carving.
